Empowervate Wins ROCCI Award for Second Year

On Saturday 5 November 2016 the ROCCI FNB Business of the Year Awards took place at Silverstar Casino in Johannesburg.

The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce (ROCCI) and First National Bank have been hosting these awards for many years to celebrate the hard work, acievements abd innovation of local businesses.

Empowervate Trust received a Gold recognition award in the Community Support category for their Youth Citizens Action Programme (Y-CAP) for the second year in a row! Y-CAP is a 7 year old youth empowerment, skills development and active citizenship programme being run by Empowervate Trust in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education in 400 school in each province. Empowervate Trust is sponsored and supported by Deutsche Bank South Africa Foundation, DSV Mounties and other organisations such as UNISA, Europcar and Airlink.

Empowervate Trust’s Founder and CEO, Amanda Blankfield-Koseff accepted the award at the gala dinner. ‘We are humbled to be one of a few non-profit organisations to be recognised at this annual prestigious business event. We thank our partners, sponsors and all the schools for their dedication to our youth and our country’
